Here is what I have done now. 4 rows out of 10 done...

My progress so far.......40% done!

Thursday, June 16, 2005

Progress on my quilt. I have the first 2 out of 10 total rows done, so I am 20% done. Yippee!! It is going pretty fast now that I have a clue what I am doing. I have been pretty sick lately, so I haven't worked on it since before going to Portland. Actually, I haven't even been to work since last Thursday (called in sick on Monday, had Tues/Weds off, was supposed to work today but got called by work and told to stay home because we are overstaffed, of all things). Anyway, progress!!!

So, here is my first (actually two) finished quilt square(s). Yay me! I finally whipped the sewing machine into shape. I used up about 25 yards of thread doing it, but it seems to work fine now. I did my first square row by row (3 rows), and it is a bit off in size, so the second one I did the center row with the pin, then added the bottom left square, then the bottom middle, then the bottom right, then repeated that on the top row. THis made each one line up almost perfectly. TOok longer, but looks much better. 2 down, 108 to go!!

My layout from the assigned sketch

Look how adorable this little girl is. This was in a story in our local paper about this little girl having the first of may surgeries to separate her legs, but I was just struck by her huge, beautiful eyes. How could you not just love a little girl like that!!
